Donald Trump is holding a rally at Waco, Texas as the 30-year anniversary of a deadly siege in the city nears. This week, Netflix aired ‘The Waco: American Apocalypse’ documentary on the standoff.

Trump is scheduled to speak at 5 PM. However, several social media users wondered if he will address the massacre.

“Almost 30 years after #Waco massacre of the cult in america..in which women and children were killed by US govt on it’s own soil…trump is using the pace to hold rally in his support…” a Twitter user said.

“Good One! It’s been 30 years since the Waco massacre. Why in God’s name would Trump hold a rally there on the anniversary unless he is asking for more death and violence?” another one added.

Thirty years ago, in 1993, authorities attempted to raid the headquarters of the Branch Davidians in Waco. The group was led by David Koresh. Police believed that the cult leader was illegally stockpiling weapons and marrying several underage girls. The raid turned into a 51-day siege. The entire compound was blown up and almost 80 people lost their lives, including Koresh.

Several films and TV series on the Waco massacre have put forward different perspectives. The Netflix docuseries came out on March 22.

The three-part docuseries, which is titles ‘Waco: American Apocalypse’, takes the viewer through the chronology of events, firsthand accounts, former law enforcement agencies assigned to the case, media broadcasts, journalist commentary, and footage.

Trump is likely to mention the massacre, especially because April 19 is its 30-year anniversary.

Ted Nugent opened the rally on Saturday. The singer called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a “homosexual weirdo” during his appearance.

“I want my money back! I didn’t authorize any money to Ukraine for some homosexual weirdo!” he said.

Marjorie Taylor Greene argued that Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, who is running the hush money case against Trump, “should be arrested”.

“You want to know why? We have to stop allowing Democrats to abuse us. It’s like we are a beaten spouse,” she said.
