On December 28. 2021, Narvacan Mayor Luis “Chavit” Singson sparked controversy in the Philippines while attempting to entertain is constituents.

In a 43 second video which went viral on Facebook, Singson could be seen brandishing what appeared to be a custom-made gold-plated toy gun. The Mayor then fired cash into a shrieking crowd, who scrambled to collect the money. Reports, however, suggest that Singson did not fire extraordinary amounts of cash, and fired 100 peso (S$2.65) and 500 peso bills from the gun.
