Eleven athletes were conferred the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in Novemeber 2021.

Javelinist Neeraj Chopra, boxer Lovlina Borgohain and wrestler Ravi Dahiya were among the winners. 

Avani Lekhara (Para Shooting), Sumit Antil (Para Athletics), Pramod Bhagat (Para Badminton), Krishna Nagar (Para Badminton) and Manish Narwal (Para Shooting) were also added to the list of Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna awardees.
