According to a former coworker, the BBC celebrity at the core of the sex photo scandal is “extremely angry” after a fourth minor came forward with accusations against the presenter.

A young person yesterday accused the anonymous presenter of sending them abusive messages on a dating app. He was accused of bribing a minor £35,000 for sexually graphic photos and is now facing charges. Although it is unknown if the broadcaster was aware of their age at the time, the accuser claimed that the presenter had sent them ‘creepy’ messages on Instagram using kisses and love hearts when they were 17 years old.

The anonymous star is ‘very unhappy’ at how the claims have been reported, according to former BBC broadcaster Jon Sopel, who chimed in on the controversy yesterday afternoon before the fourth individual aired their complaints.

During the third national lockdown in 2021, when the BBC was advising millions of people to observe the guidelines as part of its coverage of the pandemic, a third young person claimed to have met the presenter.

“It is fair to say that the presenter at the center of this is also extremely angry over much of The Sun coverage and is convinced they’re trying to dig and find new dirt to harm this specific person’s reputation”, Mr. Sopel stated in The News Agents podcast. “A number of people have been in touch with the presenter to say they feel righteous fury over the way The Sun has covered this,” he added.

One senior BBC insider, meanwhile, characterized the atmosphere at New Broadcasting House as becoming more “fraught.” Everyone feels a little taken by surprise”, he told the Times. “People are really angry that the BBC has taken center stage. Some of the questions were answered by Tim’s remarks today, but others remain unanswered.”

Less than a week ago, The Sun tabloid published allegations that the actor allegedly paid a teen £35,000 for sexually explicit photos beginning when they were 17 years old. The fresh charges raise additional concerns about the actor’s behaviour.

The implicated party has stated that there was no misconduct and that the allegations are “rubbish.”

Tim Davie, director general of the BBC, disputed today that it is “odd” that he has not yet spoken to the celebrity.

The BBC said that after starting on a dating app, the interaction between the presenter and the individual in their 20s progressed to other platforms.

The speaker then disclosed his identify and requested that the youngster not tell anyone.
