Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z, was bound to be music
prodigy. The eight-year old is officially a Grammy-nominated artist.

The nomination makes her one of the youngest nominees in history to
achieve this feat, according to Billboard.

She was nominated for her role in the song ‘Brown Skin Girl’, also
featuring Beyonce and Nigerian singer WizKid, according to the Grammy’s
website.

Initially, the Recording Academy nominated only Beyonce for the Best
Music Video for ‘Brown Skin Girl’, leaving her daughter’s name from the
nomination. However, the Grammys recently updated their website to include Ivy
Carter and WizKid’s name.

The song fills your soul with positivity, touching everyone’s hearts as
it talks about the natural beauty of Black and Brown girls.

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held on January 31,
2021. The award ceremony will be hosted by ‘The Daily Show’ host and Grammy-
nominated comedian Trevor Noah.

This nomination is not the first accolade Ivy Carter has achieved. She
won her first BET Award in June for ‘Brown Skin Girl’.

She also contributed to the narration of audio version of the children’s
book ‘Hair Love’, an animated short about a Black father attempting to style
his daughter’s hair. The animated short bagged an Academy Award earlier this
year.
