Soon after Uttar Pradesh’s most wanted criminal Vikas Dubey was nabbed on Thusday
morning, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav questioned the circumstances of
the history-sheeter’s arrest, and urged that the government must clarify if “it
was an arrest or surrender.”

“There are reports that the main accused of
Kanpur encounter is in police custody. If this is true, then the state government must clarify
if this was surrender or an arrest. Also, his call records should be revealed,
so that it can be found who all were involved in the case,” Akhilesh tweeted.

Dubey was arrested outside the Mahakal temple in Ujjain, Madhya
Pradesh, after the shopkeepers outside the temple, alerted the security guards,
who confronted him when he stepped out, handed him over to the police.

Sources, however, say that the notorious gangster may have had
everything planned to dodge the shoot-at-sight orders that were issued against
him soon after he went  missing following
the Kanpur massacre on July 3, where he killed 8 police officers who had gone
to arrest him.

As per the latest information, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has spoken to
MP counterpart Shivraj Singh Chouhan seeking safe and early transfer. He is
also likely to be handed over to the Uttar Pradesh police.
