Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao’s film “Eternals” will hit the theaters in November, one of the longest MCU movies.

She is the second woman to win an Oscar for two movies after Kathryn Bigelow (for 2009’s “The Hurt Locker”)

Eternals is just one of the big releases, with Denis Villeneuve’s Dune next month.

The story of ‘Eternals’ unfolds after the events of “2019 Avengers: Endgame” and follows a group, whom Zhao calls “Earth’s original superheroes.”

In the film’s storyline, the Eternals are a race of nearly immortal beings created by the Celestials and lived quietly on Earth for more than 7,000 years.

When their evil counterparts, the Deviants, were exterminated thousands of years ago, the Eternals were ordered to stand aside and let humanity advance on its own until the Deviants returned – that’s why they didn’t intervene when Thanos came and was exterminated out of half the population.

The “Nomadland” director revealed during an interview with Fandango said that “Eternals” is over two and a half hours long.

Zhao further  mentions that she pays tribute to many films and filmmakers that had great influence on her in the movie.

“It becomes fanfare for me… I try to let them inspire me in different parts of the movie because the film is so diverse, visually. I could do a lot of different things. Particularly with the team at Marvel — our visual effects team, the action units, the design teams — we watched [Terrence] Malick films, particularly The Tree of Life and The New World.”

Zhao mentioned the film draws inspiration from the likes of The Revenant, Interstellar, Blade Runner 2049 and a film called Samsara.

The director also said 2001: A Space Odyssey played an important role too.

Marvel Fans could not wait longer for the upcoming original comics.
