After reports said that the ship blocking the Suez Canal was re-floated on Monday, the owner of the Ever Green ship said it has ‘turned’ but is still not afloat, reports AFP. The ship is currently being secured. The Ever Green ship had been blocking the Suez Canal for over a week, crippling global supply chains, and forcing cargo firms to choose between waiting or the expensive option of rerouting vessels around the southern tip of Africa.

However, it is not clear yet when would the waterway would be open for traffic. As per reports, currently, there are over 450 ships stuck.

Earlier, officals had blamed 40-knot gusts and a sandstorm for the accident for the blockage of Suez Canal. However, on Saturday,

Egypt’s Suez Canal chief said Saturday that “technical or human errors” can be reason behind the grounding of the ship.

Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority, had earlier said that the ship could be afloat again by Sunday night.
