Gold prices fell on Wednesday as the dollar strengthened and US treasury yields rose, with investors awaiting the US inflation data for additional direction on interest rates.

Gold gains were limited as central banks around the world intensified monetary policy to temper soaring prices. Investors are looking for the core consumer price index (CPI) data expected on Friday to see how it will affect US interest rates.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 50,963.00 per 10 gm, down 5 points or 0.01%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 62,190.00 per kg, down 53 points or 0.09%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,847.00 per oz while Silver is priced at $22.10. Platinum was trading at $1,006.37 while palladium was trading at $1,982.51.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 49,860 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 62,052 per kg on Tuesday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

Copper futures were trading at Rs 796.25 up 0.11% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 726.80 and Rs 237.30 per Kg respectively on MCX.

According to the Good Returns website, Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,600 in Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi. In Chennai, the same quantity of the in-demand metal is acquired and sold for Rs 47,720.

The 24-carat gold pricing is Rs 51,930 for 10 grams of metal in Kolkata, Mumbai, and New Delhi. In Chennai, the same amount of 24-carat purity costs Rs 52,060.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,700 and Rs 47,750 in Pune and Lucknow, respectively. The same amount of 24-carat yellow metal costs Rs 52,030 in Pune and Rs 51,080 in Lucknow.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold is worth Rs 47,600 in Kerala, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. The same amount of 22-carat purity is also traded at the same price in Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar, and Mangalore. In all of the aforesaid places, however, ten grams of 24-carat gold is valued at Rs 51,930.

Ten grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs 47,700 and Rs 47,720 in Vadodara and Coimbatore, respectively. A similar amount of 24-carat purity costs Rs 52,030 in Vadodara and Rs 52,060 in Coimbatore.
