registered their second win in three games on Monday when they
defeated SunRisers Hyderabad by 12 runs at the DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.

Sent
to bat, LSG have post 169 for 7 in 20 overs after captain KL Rahul scored 68
and Deepak Hooda played a 33-ball 51 runs knock.

Chasing
170 runs target, SunRisers Hyderabad got off to a nightmarish start as they
lost both of their openers early in the innings. Captain Kane Williamson (16) and
Abhishek Sharma (13) were removed by fast bowler Avesh Khan. A poor start meant SRH’s chase suffered a blow.

The
dismissal of Williamson, who started with a boundary and six, sparked controversy
as replays showed that three fielders were outside the 30-yard circle during
the powerplay when Avesh Khan bowled the third delivery of the fourth over.

The
right-handed batter from New Zealand decided to optimise the pace of Avesh Khan
and tried to play him over the short fine leg. But he could not play the shot
high enough to clear the fielder Andrew Tye who jumped up and grabbed a superb
catch. But the delivery was supposed to be the no-ball which the onfield
umpires overlooked.

SRH,
finding the glitch, lodged an official complaint with BCCI. Now, it has to be seen who faces the wrath of the Indian cricket board for the mistake.

After
their second consecutive defeat, SRH are stagnant at the bottom of the points
table. Captain Williamson said his bowlers have done well but the team lacked
partnerships which ruled out them from the match.

“Looked
like a good surface. 170 on any day is a challenge.. have to play well. But at
the same time we knew if we could build partnerships, get off to a reasonable
start, we have enough firepower. Didn’t quite work today. The guys with the
roles they have with the ball were outstanding. It’s small margins. A few ones
and a few twos and the chase takes quite a different shape,” said Williamson at the post-match presentation ceremony.
