A Pennsylvania woman who wanted ‘to shoot Nancy Pelosi in the friggin brain’ during the US Capitol attack pleaded guilty on Tuesday. She was charged with misdemeanor for unlawfully protesting on restricted grounds.

House Speaker Pelosi was present with then-Vice President Mike Pence on January 6 in the Capitol. Pence presided over the ceremonial certification of President Joe Biden’s election victory. Pelosi’s office was ransacked, and rioters searched for her as they roamed the halls.

Dawn Bancroft was questioned by Judge Emmet G Sullivan at DC District court about her comments in the video where she admitted that she wanted to shoot Pelosi. “We were looking for Nancy to shoot her in the friggin’ brain, but we didn’t find her,” she can be seen saying.

Sullivan called the violent rhetoric caught in a video selfie “disturbing.”

“That’s really troubling. It’s horrible. It’s outrageous,” the District Judge said, as per CNN reports. “Does it not rise to the level of a threat?” she asked the federal prosecutors.

Bancroft pleaded guilty alongside her friend, a fellow Bucks County resident Diana Santos-Smith. Her charge carry a maximum penalty of six months in jail.

“It was a dumb, stupid comment. I did not mean it,” Bancroft told the judge.

The court was further told that Bancroft’s video was not posted online but she shared it with her children and a few others. A friend of the Pennsylvania resident provided the video to the FBI.

As per CNN, the Justice Department lawyers said that Bancroft was not charged with  threatening Pelosi. She was offered the go-to plea – a bargain for Capitol rioters who aren’t accused of violence

“We’re going to talk about that more at sentencing. I understand you were leaving the Capitol. I understand the government’s logic in not prosecuting you … but I don’t want to, in any way, minimize the very troubling nature of a pretty outrageous statement,” Sullivan said.

The Justice Department agreed as part of the plea deal to drop three other misdemeanor charges that had been filed against Bancroft. So far, nearly 620 people have been charged in connection with the riot, and 86 defendants have pleaded guilty, as per CNN.
