After Sam
Wilson took over Captain America’s mantle in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,
Anthony Mackie’s MCU character inherited the role.

According to
a Deadline report published on Wednesday, Anthony Mackie has agreed to reprise
his role as Captain America in Captain America 4. During The Falcon and the
Winter Soldier’s last episode, Mackie’s MCU character Sam Wilson had taken the
mantle of Captain America.

Malcom Spellman,
the show’s creator and chief writer, will collaborate with Disney+ staff writer
Dalan Musson, according to Deadline. There is currently no director.

As of
Endgame, there was a gap left by Steve Rogers’ retirement from superhero duty.
Official Captain America was John Walker, played by Wyatt Russell, until he
killed a guy in cold blood and was videotaped doing it.

Fans of the
Marvel Cinematic Universe on social media are ecstatic about the news, which was not unexpected.

A Twitter user Cris
Parker wrote, “Just imagining some of the fight scenes in that awesome suit I
can’t wait for that movie #CaptainAmerica4.”

One noted that the quality
of the series was good so Mackie will also do wonders in the movie as Cap.
“Nice the falcon and the winter soldier was so gooood,” the tweet read.

Nick Zednik

Another fan
