A sex guidebook, sold at Big W, an Australian chain of discount department stores, and supposedly marketed toward kids and teens has references of anal sex and cartoonish photos of lube, which has caused outrage online.

Instagram user Chris Primod was among the first ones who did a video on the guidebook, flipping through the pages and giving the audience a look into the controversial content. “@bigwaustralia continue to stock books that are grooming our children, exposing them to sexually explicit and highly inappropriate material,” Primod wrote in the caption, as he tagged the retailer. “This isn’t the first time Big W have stocked books like this marketed towards Children.”

The book is titled Welcome to Sex: Your no-silly-questions guide to sexuality, pleasure and figuring it out by Dr Melissa Kang and Yumi Stynes. It is described as a “frank, age-appropriate introductory guide to sex and sexuality for teens of all genders.”

The the third book in the collection of guidebooks includes Welcome to Your Period, Welcome to Consent and Welcome to Your Boobs. Although the guidebook was released back in May, it has only recently gone viral after screenshots of it’s pages went viral on social media.

“Whether you’re an apprehensive 11-year-old, a curious 14-year-old, or a parent of someone with a bunch of questions, this book is reassuring, interesting and full of the info you need,” the introductory page of the book reads.

A page titled “The lowdown on anal sex” has gone viral on Twitter, with multiple conservatives sharing a photo of the page.

“Everyone has an anus!” the page read. “It is located in a sensitive part of the body, so touching the skin around the anus can be a huge turn-on for people of any gender. You generally want to get started on this kind of sex play after a soapy shower, so that the area is extremely clean.” It then goes into more graphic details about anal sex. In the middle of one side of the page is a cartoon image of a bottle of lube.

Primod’s Instagram post was soon flooded with negative comments from parents, one of them writing: “This is disgusting! What happened to the good old birds and the bees and parents having NORMAL open discussions with their kids. Age-appropriate discussions.”

Another added: “Disgusting what are you trying to do and learn those poor children leave them alone if I find them I will throw them in the bin.”
