Late Punjabi rapper-singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s videos were played at New York’s iconic Times Square on the occasion of his 29th birth anniversary. A video showed several people gathered at the Times Square building to pay tribute to and honour Moose Wala. While some fans can be seen imitating his trademark step of slapping his thigh, others can be seen clicking photos of the billboards.

Several people took to the comments section to pay their respects to the singer.

“Nobody can beat our legend,” one person wrote.

“Sidhu will always be alive in our hearts,” wrote another person.

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, a day after the state government lifted the security of 424 people, including his. He was travelling in a jeep with his cousin and a friend when assailants opened fire. An autopsy concluded that the singer was hit by 19 bullets and that he was dead within 15 minutes of being shot at.

His causes of death was concluded as “Haemorrhagic shock which is due to antemortem firearm injuries described and sufficient to cause death in ordinary course of nature.”

Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, who is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder, saying that it was in retaliation to the killing of Akali leader Vicky Middukhera murder that took place last year.

Six shooters in the murder case have been identified so far, the Delhi Police said on Friday.
