Instagram is currently suffering a major outage worldwide. Down Detector has received thousands of reports of the app being down worldwide. Several users took to Twitter to report that they are having trouble accessing their feeds, posting pictures, and sending messages. The notification “Sorry, something went wrong” is showing up when a user to trying to load the home feed.

Some users also shared hilarious memes about the outage.

A spokesperson from Meta, the company that owns Instagram, said that it was aware of the outage.

“We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience,” the spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.

The reason behind the outage is not known and it is unclear when the app will be restored.
