Idina Menzel reacted to a viral
video of a Ukrainian girl singing “Let It
Go” inside a Kyiv bomb shelter.

Amid the Ukraine-Russia conflict, an a girl was recorded singing the song from Menzel’s 2013 animated Disney
blockbuster “Frozen.”

Over the
weekend, a video of the tiny singer went viral online, prompting the
“Rent” star to tweet her opinion on March 7.

The 50-year-old
Tony-winning “Wicked” singer-actress wrote, “We see you.
We really, really see you. ” The blue and yellow heart emojis represent
the colours of the Ukrainian flag.

In the original
film and its 2019 sequel, Menzel played Elsa, a character that has become a
constant in the homes of families with children all over the world.

“Let It
Go” has been a major hit since its release and continues to be so. It won
the 2014 Academy Award for Best Original Song and spent years on the Billboard
Hot 100 chart.

The same year,
Disney released a collection of 42 foreign-language recordings of the song.
These comprised both Ukrainian and Russian versions.

Meanwhile,
according to the Press News Agency, the small girl in the viral “Let it
Go” video has been identified as “Amelia.” Marta Smekhova
initially shared the footage on Facebook on Thursday, as per the agency.

Smekhova
posted, “From the first word in the [bomb shelter] came complete
silence… everyone put their business aside and listened to a song by
this girl who was just beaming light… Even men couldn’t hold back the tears.
” Within no time, the video went viral as it was shared on social
media
.

The girl’s
spontaneous performance drew a lot of good feedback from fans and
followers. One claimed to be a music producer from the Netherlands who wanted
to track her down and transfer money to Ukraine.

The account,
which is under the name Magnolia leaf, shared Hi little princess, i’m a music producer from the Netherlands.
You have a beautiful voice. I will record a song or 2
or even a CD, with you. Every penny will go to the people of Ukraine. Let’s get
together, with you and your parents! And keep on
singing, everybody loves it! “

They further
added, “I’m in contact with the woman who’s in contact with the
parents.” I’ll do everything i can to make her
sing with the use of a phone. I’ll use that recording for what i’m already working on. And she’ll get out of
that shelter as a happy, free, maybe even famous young girl. “

Another new fan
wrote, “I’ve been in tears all day watching video footage on Twitter of so
many people suffering and dying at the hands of Putin, but it is a blessing to
watch this sweet, innocent, little darling girl sing. God bless you and thank
you for giving everyone hope, “another person reacted.”
