British billionaire Joe Lewis, the owner of the Tottenham Hotspur soccer team, has been charged in New York with operating what a federal prosecutor has called a brazen insider trading scheme.

Lewis was charged with disclosing confidential company information to friends, personal assistants, private pilots, and romantic partners. Lewis was charged with 16 charges of securities fraud and three counts of conspiracy in a 19-count indictment.
