Time is running out for OceanGate Expeditions CEO Stockton Rush and four others who are stuck inside a submersible that went missing on Sunday, a little more than an hour into a dive that was supposed to take them to the Titanic wreckage, resting 12,000 feet underwater in the Atlantic Ocean.

Amid a massive-scale rescue operation currently being conducted off the coast of Newfoundland where the submersible was last seen. When it originally went missing, the vessel has 96 hours of oxygen backup. Three days later, it has come down to less than 19 hours.

Stockton Rush is married to Wendy Rush.

Who is Wendy Rush?

Wendy Rush, whose maiden name was Wendy Rush née Hollings Weil graduated from Princeton University. She is the communications director for OceanGate Inc.

Wendy is also a part of the company’s communications and tracking team. She joined the company in June 2021. She is also involved with OceanGate’s non-profit counterpart.

Wendy was the president of the OceanGate Foundation from 2017 to October 2021. The foundation aims to catalyze emerging marine technology in order to make progressive strides in marine science, history, and archaeology. She is still a member of the foundation’s executive board.

In 2021, 2022, and 2023, Wendy was the one who tracked all the Titanic expeditions and other sea expeditions in the Bahamas and Hudson Canyon for the company.

She was a pilot when she tied the knot with aerospace engineer Stockton Rush in 1986. Wendy also taught as a substitute teacher in Lancaster as well as held a job as an account manager with Ladd Associates before her affiliation with OceanGate.
