Bollywood actor Neena Gupta, in her autobiography %u2018Sach Kahun Toh%u2019, revealed that her close friend Satish Kaushik offered to marry her when she was pregnant with Masaba. Neena got pregnant while she was in a relationship with former cricketer Sir Viv Richards in the 1980s.
According to a review of %u2018Sach Kahun Toh%u2019 published in Film Companion, when Neena was pregnant with Masaba, Satish told her, %u201CDon%u2019t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it%u2019s mine and we%u2019ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing.%u201D

In an earlier interview with Hindustan Times, Neena talked about having to %u2018suffer a lot%u2019 professionally because of the image that was created of her.
The actor said, “Well that of a bold, strong woman who does things according to what she wants to do. And a strong woman means a negative woman in our films. I used to get all negative roles like a dominating woman in the household but I told them that I want a bechari woman role.%u201D
%u201CAlso, discussions about having a child out of wedlock went on and on and on. Wo child to woman ho gayi abhi bhi child hi bol rahe hain (People are still calling her child, even though she is a woman now),%u201D she added.
