When an elephant noticed an antelope drowning at a La Aurora Zoo in Guatemala City, it exclaimed for rescue.
The Asian elephant raised the alarm with a roaring horn as soon as she observed the antelope in distress, as shown in a video recorded by zoo visitor Maria Diaz.

The furious elephant can be seen yelling and lashing her trunk toward the struggling antelope.
The zookeeper was drawn to the Tusker’s noises and dashed towards the river, jumping in and carrying the terrified antelope to safety.

The antelope’s horns can be seen at the top of the pool as it tries to keep afloat. The elephant, on the other hand, appears to tip its trunk in the direction of the animal before returning to the zookeeper.
The antelope begins to splash more wildly in the water as the elephant continues to hunt for aid.
While the elephant continues to trumpet, the zookeeper dashes over to the pool and jumps in. Finally, the zookeeper pulls the antelope high enough for it to leap over the pool’s brink.
As the antelope bounces away and bystanders celebrate, a woman can be heard saying, “Bravo.”

According to Newsweek, the zoo offered the elephant and the worker who dived in after the antelope a reward after the incident, citing local media outlet guatemala.com. Watermelon, carrots, and peanuts were offered to the tusker named “Trompita.” The zoo employee received a certificate.
