The ‘ripped jeans’ comments by the Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat continue to draw flak from all sides and this time its writer-producer Tahira Kahsyap who showed her disapproval over the controversial remark in her own sarcastic way.
Sharing her video in a bikini and bald look she captioned, “At least not wearing ripped jeans”.
Her post received love from her fans on social media and even from the film fraternity including producer Ekta Kapoor, actor Bhumi Pednekar and Huma Quereshi
The CM made a controversial remark while addressing a child substance abuse workshop in the state. While describing an outfit of a woman who sat next to him in a flight, he said “You run an NGO, wear jeans ripped at the knees, move about in society, children are with you, what values you will teach?”
He also termed ripped jeans as “kainchi wala sanskar” (scissor culture). Soon after his comment, #RippedJeansTwitter started to trend online with images of women in ripped jeans.

She said that this is a “mindset that encourages crimes against women”.

Before this, her grand-daughter Navya Naveli Nanda too took to her Instagram, to share photos where she is wearing ripped jeans.“Change your mentality before changing our clothes because the only thing shocking here is the message comments like this send to society.”
In the next story, the youngster posted a picture of herself wearing ripped jeans. “I’ll wear my ripped jeans. Thank you. And I’ll wear them proudly,” Navya wrote, captioning the photo.
Gul Panag also posed in ripped jeans as her step to oppose Rawat’s controversial statement on women.
