BBC Radio 4’s Twitter account has liked a comment that described the recently-unveiled Princess Diana statue as ‘hideous’. BBC’s account liked the comment from documentary producer Neil Crombie which featured a picture of Diana statue with the caption, ‘I’m sorry but this is hideous.’
A BBC spokesperson said it was an accident and shouldn’t have been liked, soon they unliked the tweet. Yesterday Prince William and Harry unveiled the statue in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace to mark the 60th birth anniversary of their mother. The statue made by Ian Rank-Broadley shows Diana with her arms around two children with another little boy following behind.

The design of the statue was top secret and appears to be inspired by Diana’s official 1993 Christmas card, her first card sent without Prince Charles, where she wears the same open ribbed shirt, skirt, and belt as she smiles with her two sons.
But in the statue, she is posed with three children rather than her boys. In the statute the two children are not wearing shoes, one boy appears to have afro-style hair. “It represents the universality and generational impact of The Princess’ work,’ the palace said.
