Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on Thursday saw a chaotic start. To start all the drama in what is called IPL’s El Classico rivalry, Ravindra Jadeja and co picked two wickets in the first over. MI skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck. 

In no time, Sharma’s men were 23/3 in three overs. Pacer Mukesh Choudhary picked all three wickets. CSK had won the toss and elected to bowl.

How often do we see MS Dhoni miss a stumping or Ravindra Jadeja, one of India’s finest fielders, misjudge a catch? Well against the Mumbai Indians, both the CSK veterans made a mess. To top it all, Dwayne Bravo, not only dropped Tilak Varma but also let the ball run to the boundary. 

On a night where CSK probably put up their best powerplay show bowling, they actually missed three chances.

Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a second-ball duck when he pushed Mukesh Choudhary’s fullish delivery to Mitchell Santner at mid-on. The Mumbai skipper now holds the record for most ducks in the IPL (14). His fellow opener Ishan Kishan was also bowled in the same over.

MS Dhoni missed Suryakumar Yadav’s stumping in the second over when the MI batter was foxed by Santner’s dip. Jadeja dropped Dewald Brevis in the same over.
