Lisa, a Kpop sensation and member of the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK, has tested positive for COVID-19. In a statement on Wednesday, the group’s agency YG Entertainment confirmed that the 24-year-old rapper-singer has been diagnosed with coronavirus, and the other three members of the band- Rose, Jennie, and Jisoo- are awaiting their test results.

 “BLACKPINK’s Lisa was diagnosed with COVID-19 this afternoon (November 24). The other three BLACKPINK members have not been classified as close contacts yet, but they immediately received PCR tests after hearing of Lisa’s positive COVID-19 results, and they are currently awaiting their results,” the agency said in a statement to Soompi.com. 

“We first shared this information quickly and accurately with representatives and staff, and we took strong preemptive measures even beyond the guidelines of health authorities. We will continue to not hold back on providing full support with the health of our artists and related staff members as the top priority. If there are any changes in the future, we will once again notify you quickly,” the statement added.

Blackpink is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment. Consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, the band made its debut in August 2016 with their album ‘Square One.’ This album had the hit songs like ‘Whistle’ and ‘Boombayah.’

In September this year, Lisa made her solo debut with her album, ‘Lalisa.’ Her debut single ‘LaLisa’ opened at No. 84 on Billboard Hot 100. 

Meanwhile, after the news of Lisa testing positive for COVID was out, several of her fans wished her a speedy recovery on social media. 

“Let’s pray and hope for Lisa’s recovery, let’s remember that she already took two doses of the covid-19 vaccine. Let’s pray and cheer also for the health of the other members of BLACKPINK, Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo,” one person tweeted.

“I just heard the saddest news ever, Lisa of blackpink is ill, she got COVID-19.
Let’s all take a moment to pray for her. She will get through this by god’s willing , she is strong she is Wonder woman for me,” another person wrote.
