British carmaker Rolls Royce on Wednesday made the historic announcement that it will go fully electronic by the year 2030. With that, the luxury brand has also unveiled its first fully electronic four-wheeler that has been named Spectre. The Rolls Royce Spectre, which will hit the markets in 2023, was announced by Torsten Muller Otvos, CEO of the company in an online event. However, not much has been disclosed about the car’s features and specifications but the auto giant claims that Spectre will be quiet, redefined, and offer instant torque.
“With this new product, we set out our credentials for the full electrification of our entire product portfolio by 2030. By then, Rolls-Royce will no longer be in the business of producing or selling any internal combustion engine products,” Müller-Ötvös said.

While Spectre is Rolls-Royce’s first fully-formed production electric car, the brand had previously experimented with a fully operational all-electric vehicle with Phantom called the 102EX in 2011; an electric 103EX prototype followed in 2016.
Rolls-Royce currently offers no hybrid modelled vehicles among a fleet that includes the Phantom sedan, Cullinan SUV, Ghost sedan, Wraith coupe, and Dawn convertible.
