Rajiv Kapoor fondly referred as ‘Chimpu’ by his family was the youngest of the Kapoor brothers. The Bollywood actor-director died on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack. In April 2020, Kapoor family lost Rishi Kapoor after a two-year battle against cancer and their sister, Ritu Nanda, died in January 2020.
Rajiv made his debut in ‘Ek Jaan Hai Hum’ in 1983 and played the lead role in ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, the last movie directed by his father Raj Kapoor.

He was seen in ‘Lover Boy’ (1985), ‘Hum Toh Chale Pardes’ (1988), ‘Zabardast’ (1985), and ‘Aasmaan’ (1984) and made his last appearance in a movie in 1990. After that he switched to directing and producing movies in Bollywood. The last movie Rajiv produced was ‘Aa Ab Laut Chale’ in 1999. He was not seen much after this.

Rajiv married Aarti Sabharwal in 2001 and got divorced in 2003. He was rumoured to have had relationships with Nagama, Indian actor and active politician, and actor Divya Rana.
According to Times of India, Rajiv Kapoor was all set to make a comeback on the big screen with Ashutosh Gowariker’s film ‘Toolsidas Junior’.
