Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Friday, February 4, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 47,963.00 per 10 gm, up 46 points or 0.1%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 60,960.00 per kg, up 228 points or 0.38%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,806.55 per oz. Platinum was trading at $1,039.00 while palladium was trading at $2,340.00.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 47,020 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 60,715 per kg on Thursday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

In Delhi and Mumbai, the price of 24-carat gold stands at Rs 49,050 and Rs 49,650, respectively according to the Goodreturns website.

The price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold in Delhi and Mumbai is at Rs 45,100 and 45,500 respectively. In Chennai, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 49,490 on Friday, while 10 grams of 22-carat gold is selling at Rs 45,360.

In Chennai, the price of 1 kg of silver is at Rs 65,600, while in Delhi and Mumbai, the metal is selling at Rs 61,400. Silver is selling at Rs 61,400 per kg in Kolkata, while in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, the metal is selling at Rs 65,600 a kg.

Gold has struggled in 2021 after hitting a record high of Rs 56,200 in 2020 as the dollar strengthened in hopes of a swift economic recovery as Covid vaccination picked up the pace.

Global equity markets also retreated today as investors grew increasingly concerned about a growing energy crisis and spiking inflation.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 757.20 up 0.43% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 1,733.00 and Rs 244.65 per Kg respectively on MCX.
