Pyaar ka Punchnama actor Kartik Aaryan was fired from %u2018Dostana 2%u2019  on Friday. Filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions released a statement saying that they will be recasting ‘Dostana 2’, directed by Collin D%u2019Cunha. The movie had to star Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and Laksh Lalwani in the lead roles.

However, reports suggest that Rajkumar Rao and Vicky Kaushal could be the possible replacements for Aaryan in the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster. The filmmakers had pitched the idea to Rao before Kartik Aaryan came into the picture. Vicky Kaushal, who tested negative for COVID-19 only earlier in the day has also been deemed as the potential replacement. However, there is no official statement made by Dharma on the replacement yet.

Dostana 2 was originally planned to be shot in London, but was shifted to India in the wake of the coronavirus pandem. As per plans, shooting had to resume in May in Rajasthan.
