The Eternals is based on a lesser-known comic book series of the same name created by Jack Kirby in the 1970s. The plot followed the Eternals, a group of godlike beings who fled Earth, previously regarded as gods, to explore the universe. The Deviants, who are basically the Eternals but evil, are the group’s antagonists. Kro, commonly known as Warlord Kro, is the Deviants’ leader. According to the comics, the shapeshifter has an on-again, off-again romance with Thena, who Angelina Jolie plays in the film. Many of the same heroes from the comic series will appear in the MCU adaptation of The Eternals.

Dan Stevens, who is most known for his roles in Downton Abbey and Legion, had long been touted to play Kro. The actor previously worked with Disney, portraying the Beast in the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast in 2017. Stevens is an enthralling performer who exhibits a high level of acting precision. Revealing the actor will be a massive spoiler for either a big in-person cameo or something fresh about the character’s nature that they are waiting to show.
If Dan Stevens is indeed playing the role, this bodes well for him continuing to play a big role in the MCU as a whole.
