Popular messaging platform Snapchat went down on Thursday, with users reporting being unable to open the app on multiple platforms.
Thousands of reports came in regarding problems with logging in to the platform although it is not billed as a worldwide outage.
According to multiple media reports, users have confirmed the outage saying that they are having difficulties in even opening the app, leaving avid users cut off from their latest Snaps and Chats. Some others say that although they can reach the normal features, the app crashes soon after.

“I thought it was only me. So I uninstalled Snapchat, and when I wanted to re-enter my login details, it says, “uh, oh. Something went wrong; try again later,” a user was quoted as saying by the Express UK.
The Snapchat support team has sent out a tweet from their official Twitter handle confirming that they are aware of the issues. The team says: “We are aware of an issue preventing some Snapchatters from logging in. Hang tight, we are looking into it and working on a fix!”
The cause of the outage is still unclear but thousands of reports have been logged in the down detector website.
When the servers will be back online and users can try and save their precious streaks, is also not clear.
And what happens to the snaps that expire before they can be viewed by the user due to the outage? Here are some rules.
1. Snapchat servers are designed to automatically delete all Snaps after they’ve been viewed by all recipients.
