Bollywood director Rohit Shetty, whose forte is action-packed movies, is all set to make his digital debut with a web series that will be an action-thriller drama series.
The ‘Singham’ director will be the “creator and showrunner of a cop action-thriller drama series consisting of about eight episodes. It is inspired by true events,” a source close to the film’s team told PTI.
Son of legendary stuntman-actor M B Shetty, the 47-year-old is best known for his ‘Singham’ series movies, and action-comedies like ‘Golmaal’ films and ‘Chennai Express.’ Shetty also hosts the popular actor-adventure show ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’ since 2014.
The series, yet to be named, will be going on the floors after the ‘Simmba’ movie director will wrap up ‘Cirkus,’ which stars Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh.
‘Cirkus’, based on William Shakespeare’s classic play ‘The Comedy of Errors’, revolves around two sets of identical twins, who were accidentally separated at birth.
The film, likely to release in the winter of 2021, will be presented by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series in association with Reliance Entertainment.
The 47-year-old is also looking forward to the release of the cop action feature ‘Sooryavanshi,’ fourth inline with the filmmaker’s cop universe. The film features Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, and will also see Ajay Devgn as Singham and Singh as Simmba in special appearances.
