The internet is going crazy over a video showing an ostrich galloping at 45 kilometers per hour on a Chinese highway, causing motorists to swerve.
The flightless bird was said to have escaped from a cargo vehicle on Tianjin’s Rongcheng–Wuhai Expressway. The ostriches were being transported to Jizhou District by the driver. When he struck a speed bump on the way, his truck’s door flew open.
According to local media accounts, a witness contacted traffic cops to report an ostrich “as large as a vehicle” speeding down the roadway. Two police cars were able to contain the scared bird without any injuries to it and get it off the highway. They led it into a secure area and reunited it with its owner.
