The legend of Indian cinema Dilip Kumar died on Wednesday at 98. As India was mourning for the original ‘King Khan’, who ruled Bollywood for nearly five decades, a Twitter user’s post over his will led to a controversy. The tweet claimed that Dilip Kumar, born Muhammed Yusuf Khan, had donated his wealth to the Muslim Waqf Board. No, he did not, according to a report on a fact-checking website.

The post, which became viral on social media, claimed that the late actor had donated Rs 98 crore to the Waqf board.
Dilip Kumar’s close friend Faisal Farooqui dismissed these claims, as per the AltNews. No such donations were made to the Waqf board, he said.

Maharashtra State Board of Waqf CEO, Anees Shaikh, also said his office doesn’t have any information regarding any such donation, according to the report.
After being admitted to Mumbai’s Hinduja hospital last Tuesday, Dilip Kumar died on July 7.
Dilip Kumar, who is known for his iconic performances in films like ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Naya Daur’, and ‘Ram Aur Shyam’, made his acting debut in 1944 with ‘Jwar bhata’. His last film was the 1998 movie ‘Qila’.
For his contribution to the Indian cinema, he received several honours, which included Padma Bhushan (India’s third-highest civilian honour), Padma Vibhushan (India’s second-highest civilian honour) and Dadasaheb Phalke Award (known as the highest honour in Indian cinema).
He is survived by his wife and veteran Bollywood actor Saira Banu.
