Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s announcement of a week-long
lockdown in the capital on Monday almost instantly led to long queues outside liquor shops. Among those in a queue in east Delhi was a fiesty elderly woman holding forth on the merits of a peg. The video went viral, attracting hilarious comments on social media.
A video, posted by news agency ANI on Twitter, showed an
elderly woman outside a liquor shop in Shivpuri Geeta Colony, claiming alcohol,
and not medicine, would save her life.
In the 52-second clip, she says she
will benefit more from alcohol than from medicine.

won’t do me any good, but the alcohol will be useful. The medicine will not have
any effect on me, but the alcohol will)”, she is seen saying in the video.
“Mere ko 35 saal ho gaye peete hue, maine aaj tak koi bhi
