Britney Spears shared with her followers on Instagram the devastating news of losing her “miracle baby.” On Saturday, the 40-year-old singer said that she has had a miscarriage.
“We have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” the joint statement with fiancé Sam Asghari via Instagram reads. “Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along however we were overly excited to share the good news.”

The couple urged fans for privacy during this “difficult” time.
The post, signed “Sam & Britney,” also included a caption:
“We are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family… Thank you for your support.”
In a reply to the announcement, Asghari responded, “We will have a miracle soon.”
Spears, who is a mother to two sons with her ex-husband Kevin Federline — Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, announced her pregnancy with her longtime partner Asghari in April.

“I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby,” Spears wrote in an Instagram post last month.
Asghari confirmed the news in his own Instagram announcement later that day, writing, “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something I have always looked forward to and I don’t take lightly. It is the most important job I will ever do.”
Since September 2021, the Gimme More singer has been engaged to Asghari. Last weekend, the fitness instructor revealed that the couple had officially selected their wedding date. Spears and Asghari initially met in 2016, when the former hired the latter to play her love interest in her Slumber Party music video.
They began dating shortly after and have been inseparable ever since.
