Delhi Capitals’ new recruit Ajinkya Rahane took a stunning diving catch during his team’s training session. Rahane’s exploits on the field was captured by the Delhi-base franchise on video and they uploaded it for his fans to see. The video was captioned “Augmented Reality and Ajinkya Rahane’s initials are the same… Coincidence? We don’t think so”.

Under newly appointed head coach Ricky Ponting, the team will be expecting a change of fortunes and expecting to conquer their maiden Indian Premier League title. 

The Shreyas Iyer-led side looks to be in good shape, with their first IPL match coming up against Kings XI Punjab on September 20.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians took to Twitter to post a similar video of their skipper Rohit Sharma in a catch-practice session. The 33-year-old plucked the ball out of thin air with a one-handed effort in the video. 

The Mumbai-based franchise starts their title-defence against Chennai Super Kings on September 19 in the season opener.
