The wheels of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have started rolling with the BCCI announcing the schedule for the tournament.
Delhi Capitals, one of the only three teams yet to clinch the coveted IPL title, will begin their campaign in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 20 against Kings XI Punjab.
Captained by Shreyas Iyer, the Delhi franchise’s Indian batting lineup is touted to grab eyeballs with the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, their new acquisition Ajinkya Rahane and the skipper himself.
The spin bowling options with Amit Mishra, Axar Patel, Sandeep Lamichhane and recently roped in Ravichandran Ashwin can boost their bowling prowess on the slow UAE tracks.
The pace department raises a few eyebrows on the first look but the lineup of Ishant Sharma, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje can scalp wickets in plenty on their day.

The Delhi-based club has always been bubbling with domestic talents and it’s no different this year. However, international big names in Caribbean power-hitter Shimron Hetmyer, Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey can push DC to finally end their title drought.
