Luke Goedeke is an American football player who plays offensive guard for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League. He was drafted in the second round of the 2022  NFL Draft by the Buccs as the 57th overall pick.

Goedeke, who is of German descent, was born on 21st November 1998 in Whitelaw village of Wisconsin state. He attended the Valders High School in Valders, Wisconsin. He played the position of Tight-End in high school but almost gave up the sport because of a severe shoulder injury. He opted to start his collegiate football career at UW Stevens Point, in 2017, after going unnoticed by college recruiters. He caught 12 passes for 132 yards in his freshman season.

Next year, he transferred to Central Michigan University to play for their football team, Central Michigan Chippewas. He redshirted his first year with the team and subsequently did not play. He also switched his position from Tight end to Right tackle in the offensive line before the beginning of next season.  In 2019, he played all of the team’s 14 games as a Chippewas Sophomore and recorded only 1 tackle for the entire season.

Goedeke missed the entire 2020 season with a knee injury. He came back for his final season in 2021.  He only played 6 games and recorded 0 tackles for the season. Despite this, he was named First-team All-Mid American as a Junior.

Scouts at Bleacher Report have labeled Goedeke as “a sawed-off, stout build with playing strength, competitive toughness and balance to make a successful transition inside.” He was graded 6.26 in the pre-NFL draft by NFL analyst Lance Zierlein. This reflects that he will eventually be an average starter in the league.

Goedeke was selected as the sixth overall Offensive tackle in the 2022 Draft.
