Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is getting married today (July 7, 2022) to Dr Gurpreet Kaur, who belongs to Pehowa in Haryana’s Kurukshetra. First photos of the private event were shared by Aam Aadmi Party’s Raghav Chadha.

Mann, who took over Punjab’s top office earlier this year, was seen wearing a yellow coloured turban on his wedding day. Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Cheif Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also attending the wedding along with his family. The event was hosted at Mann’s residence in Chandigarh.

Gurpreet Kaur, 30, shared a picture of herself on Twitter and wrote, “Din Shagna Da Chadya”, which is a famous song that is traditionally played at most Indian weddings. She also thanked the Aam Aadmi Party leaders for their congratulatory messages.

Raghav Chadha, an Aam Aadmi Party MP, spoke to reporters before the ceremony began. He said, “A new chapter in CM Bhagwant Mann’s life is going to start today. I congratulate Mann saab’s family, his mother and sister. It will be a small function. Only family members will attend”, news agency PTI reported.

“We all are happy that happiness has returned to Mann saab’s family after a long time. It was his mother’s dream to see her son getting settled again. Today, that dream is going to come true”, Chadha added.

While not much is known about the event, news agency ANI reported what was on the menu for the wedding. The multi-cuisine spread included: Karahi Paneer, Tandoori Kulche, Dal Makhani, Navratan Biryani, Mausami Subzian, Apricot Stuffed Kofta, Lasagna Siciliano and Burrani Raita.

Dishes like Fresh Fruit Triffle, Moong Dal Halwa, Shahi Tukda, Angoori Rasmalai and Dry Fruit Rabari were available in the dessert section.
