Vaishali
Takker, the Sasural Simar Ka actress, died by suicide at her home in Madhya
Pradesh’s Indore. The 29-year-old actor had hung herself to death late Saturday
night, police say. A suicide note was recovered from her home. Takker was a
major presence in Indian television and her death has cast a pall of gloom
across the country’s entertainment industry.
Takker’s
suicide note, whose details are yet to be revealed by the police, indicates
that she was being harassed by an ex-boyfriend. Assistant Commissioner of
Police (ACP) M Rehman said the suicide note suggests that she was stressed.
Media reports say the suicide note identifies the ex-boyfriend as a man named
Rahul.

Rahul was
Vaishali Takker’s neighbour and was married. There is speculation that it was
Rahul who was harassing her to the extent that she was forced to take her own
life. Police say Rahul is absconding and they are on the lookout for him.
Vaishali
Takker had a rough couple of years. The coronavirus lockdown meant she had to
spend her time at her home in Indore. She was briefly engaged to a Kenya-based
dental surgeon named Abhinandan Singh. The duo had met and Takker had at the
time told media that things were looking good between the couple. The
engagement broke off before its fruition into marriage.
