Several social media users slammed the concussion spotter for not taking Parker out for a check as soon as he fell down. The WR could not stand straight as the team lined-up to continue their drive in the first quarter.

“A failure by the concussion spotter. DeVante Parker could not stand up straight after hitting the ground. Nelson Agholor took a knee and was flailing desperately to try to get the play stopped for Parker,” a Twitter user said.

“DeVante Parker clearly concussed, literally falling over, and his teammates have to pull him off the field. The NFL runs on pretending Everything Is Fine,” another one added.

“@NFL do you all actually have concussion spotters? Did anyone see DeVante Parker prior to that challenge?” a third one tweeted.

The ATC or concussion spotters are meant to be video reviewers which help to check the injuries and physical problems that players suffer during a match. While certain movements might not seem as indications of injuries, the ATC check can help a team to take off a player at the right time before it leads to further damage.

The Patriots’ defensive back Jack Jones also suffered an injury. As Parker is a key component of an otherwise wobbly Patriots’ offence, his absence from the game could hurt their fortunes badly. Earlier in the day, the Cardinals also suffered a setback as their starting quarterback Kyler Murray suffered a no-touch injury and was also taken off the field.
