Five women filed a lawsuit against NBC and Bill Cosby for sexual assault earlier this month. The action was made possible by a New York state statute that temporarily suspends the statute of limitations for prior sexual assault claims. The women claim that Cosby either sexually assaulted them or coerced them into having sex. When the actor was at the height of his career as the star of “The Cosby Show” on NBC, four of the allegations are from the late 1980s or early 1990s. Cindra Ladd, as person in the fifth allegation, a former Hollywood executive, has accused Cosby of sexually assaulting her in 1969.
