Apple CEO Tim Cook’s shared a tweet just hours before the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2022 is set to kick off.

In the tweet, Cook wrote: “Developers assemble! It’s going to be a great day!”

The company is expected to show off new softwares coming to its most popular devices.

Apple is expected to show off its latest operating system, iOS 16, which is likely to come with a revamped notification center and lock screen for iPhones. New health features and social features for iMessage are also expected to be present. Among other rumors is the possible hint at a platform thought to be called RealityOS – which could be a mixed reality headset. This likely will be capable of having both virtual and augmented reality. Apple has been rumored to be working on such a platform for years.

Daniel Ives, an analyst with Wedbush Securities, said he expects Apple to “hit on a number of AR/VR technologies to developers that the company plans to introduce.”

“Ultimately this strategy is laying the breadcrumbs to the highly anticipated AR headset Apple Glasses set to make its debut likely before holiday season or latest early 2023,” he said.

Apple will also announce the iPadOS 16 – bringing minor changes and improvements over the previous version.

Alongside iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, Apple is expected to introduce macOS 13 – dubbed Mammoth. This will reportedly have some exclusive features and an overhaul of the System Preferences.
