Billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani, chairperson of the Adani Group briefly edged past Bernard Arnault, the co-founder, and chairman of LVMH Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton, to become the world’s second richest man, as per Forbes on Friday, 16 September 2022. He was then back at number three.

Last month, Adani had taken over Arnault to grab the third spot. The Adani Group founder was behind Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. As of 16 September 2022, with a net worth of US $152.3 billion, he is the richest person in India and Asia, and the third richest person in the world. Adani’s personal properties are reportedly in Ahmedabad, a residential and commercial complex. He also owns a bungalow worth multi-crores in Delhi.

The most prized possession in the garage of Gautam Adani is the Rolls Royce Ghost, considered to be the pinnacle of luxury. This beast of a vehicle costs a mind-boggling Rs 6.20 crore in the Indian market. The billionaire also owns a BMW 7 series, Ferrari, and Audi Q7. As per the reports his jet collection involves a 2009 Bombardier Challenger 605 with serial no. 5787 having enrollment no. VT-APL, a 2013 Embraer Legacy 650 with serial no. 14501144 having enrollment no. VT-AML and he also own a 2007 Hawker 850XP with serial no. 258835 with enrollment no. VT-AGP. 

He has 7 siblings and his parents migrated from the town of Tharad in the northern part of Gujarat. His father was a small textile merchant. Gautam Adani is married to Priti, and they have two sons, Karan Adani and Jeet Adani. 

Adani is also the president of the Adani Foundation, which is primarily led by his wife, Priti Adani.
