The Sensex fell 215.26 or 0.35% to 60,906.09 while the Nifty was down by 62.55 or 0.34% to close at 18,082.35 at the end of Wednesday’s trading session.

The Sensex moved in a high and low band of 61,209.65 and 60,794.39. A total of 9 stocks advanced against 20 declining and 1 stable on the index.

The Nifty traded in the high-low range of 18,178.75 and 18,048.65. On the index, 15 stocks advanced and 35 stocks declined.

The broader indices ended mixed with the BSE MidCap index losing 0.12% and the SmallCap index up by 0.23%. The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were Metal up by 0.67%, Healthcare 0.43%, Energy 0.14%, and Oil and Gas 0.09%, while Telecom down by 1.31%, Realty 1.01%, TECK 1.00%, Auto 0.75%, and Power 0.65% were the top losing sectoral indices on BSE.

The top gainers on the Sensex were Sun Pharma up by 1.81%, ITC 1.43%, Tech Mahindra 0.94%, Reliance Industries 0.62%, and Wipro 0.37%. While the losers on the index were Bharti Airtel down by 3.05%, Maruti Suzuki 2.40%, HCL Technologies 1.42%, Hindustan Uniliver 1.31%, and Infosys 1.29%.

The top gainers on the Nifty were Hindalco up by 1.59%, Sun Pharma Industries 1.45%, ITC by 1.29%, ONGC by 1.00% and Tech Mahindra by 0.80%.  While the top losers were Bharti Airtel down by 3.05%, Apollo Hospital Ent. 2.91%, Maruti Suzuki 2.44%, Eicher Motors 1.75% and Britannia Industries 1.45%.

The Karnataka Bank Limited, RPG Life Sciences Limited, Cochin Shipyard Limited, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited and ITC Limited hit their 52-week high on Wednesday.

Akshar Spintex Limited, Tracxn Technologies Limited, Dmcc Speciality Chemicals Limited, Narmada Agrobase Limited, and Raj Oil Mills Limited touched a 52-week low on Wednesday.

Karnataka Bank Limited, NMDC Limited, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, Vedanta Limited, and Tata Steel Limited were the most active equities on NSE.

The top volume gainers were TT Limited, Vineet Laboratories Limited, Eimco Elecon (India) Limited, Ortin Laboratories Limited, and IFCI Limited.

Visesh Infotecnics Limited, TT Limited, The Karnataka Bank Limited, Delta Manufacturing Limited, and Eimco Elecon (India) Limited hit their upper price band.

Adroit Infotech Limited, Arshiya Limited, Aurum PropTech Limited, DCM Financial Services Limited, and Excel Realty N Infra Limited hit their lower price band.
