MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) host Doja Cat put up an aerial performance at the Barclays Center in New York on Sunday. She rocked her hit tracks “Been Like This” and “You Right”.
Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, was wearing a gorgeous red outfit as she flew high over the crowd.

Doja Cat was also nominated for video of the year for “Kiss Me More,” featuring SZA. Ahead of the award ceremony, the 25-year-old had said that she was planning to go all out for the performance, adding that she was going to show up “just butt naked.”
“They’re allowing that now, it’s like a thing that they’re into. No censorship whatsoever," she joked.
“Ima host the vmas tomorrow and i’m gonna do a good job by accident,” she tweeted on Saturday. When asked by a fan if she was going to fart on stage, Doja Cat said, “no i’m just going to have a good time and read the teleprompter and leave.”
Doja Cat was nominated for six VMAs this year: Artist of the Year, Video of the Year and Best Collaboration for “Kiss Me More” (featuring SZA), Best Art Direction for “Best Friend” (with Saweetie), Best Visual Effects for “You Right” (with The Weeknd), and Song of the Summer for “Need to Know.”
She previously won Push Best New Artist in 2020.
This year’s MTV VMA's also featured performances from Justin Bieber, who also won Artist of the Year, Alicia Keys and Swae Lee, Camila Cabello, Chlöe, Foo Fighter, Kacey Musgraves, Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow, Normani, Olivia Rodrigo, Ozuna, Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker, Shawn Mendes and Tainy, and Twenty One Pilots.
The award show opened on Sunday with Madonna paying homage to the network's 40th anniversary followed by Justin Bieber’s high-energy performance.
“They said we wouldn’t last,” Madonna said. “But we’re still here.”
