The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Wednesday said that it will soon take a decision on conducting the class 10 and class 12 board examinations, reports PTI. The announcement comes amid a surge in COVID-19 cases across the country. “We are reviewing the situation and will soon take a decision in this regard,” CICSE Chief Executive and Secretary Gerry Arathoon said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Central Board of Secondary Education cancelled class 10 board exams and postponed the class 12 papers.

The ISCE class 10 exams are scheduled to begin from May 5 while ISC class 12 exams have already started from April 8.

The board exams last year had been cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Students were then evaluated based on internal assessment.
