Humayun’s Tomb

Answer: Mysuru Palace

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the International Yoga Day celebrations from the iconic Mysuru Palace grounds in Karnataka. He addressed the gathering on the occasion and highlighted the importance of Yoga.

Mysuru royal scion Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and “Rajmata” Pramoda Devi Wadiyar shared the stage with Modi at the Yoga Day event.

Pramoda Devi Wadiyar said she had written a letter to the prime minister, inviting him for breakfast.

“I had invited to come to our house — it may be a palace for others — for breakfast, when he comes to Mysuru for Yoga Day. I had written a letter to him and he has accepted it, and we are happy,” she said.

Over 15,000 participants participated in the yoga event, with crores of people joining various IDY 2022 programmes across India and the world.

Modi’s yoga plan is a part of the novel “Guardian Yoga Ring” programme, which is a collaborative exercise between 79 countries and United Nations Organisation along with Indian missions abroad to illustrate yoga’s unifying power beyond frontiers.

The theme for this year’s Yoga day was “Yoga for Humanity.” The theme portrays how yoga served humanity in alleviating sufferings during the Covid-19 pandemic. This flagship event of the Ministry of Ayush was co-organised with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga.
