Options:

Leonardo Da Vinci

Raphael

Michelangelo

Donatello

Answer- Michelangelo

Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni mostly known as
Michelangelo was the painter of the Sistine Chapel ceiling.

Michelangelo was an Italian painter, sculptor, and architect
who was born in Caprese, the Republic of Florence on March 6, 1475.

 His art was inspired
by classic antiquity models. His work also had an influence on western art. Contemporary
biographers lauded Michelangelo as his era’s most accomplished artist. He is also
16th century’s one of the best-documented artists.

 The painting of
Genesis’ scenes in the Sistine Chapel is considered one of his most notable works.
It is also the most influential Fresco in Western art history along with his other
creation, The Last Judgement on the altar wall.

Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling between 1508
and 1512. It is a cornerstone work of High Renaissance art. The Sistine Chapel,
the large papal chapel was built within the Vatican between the years 1477 and
1480. The chapel is named after Pope Sixtus IV who built the Sistine Chapel.

Michelangelo, according to his biographer Ascanio Condivi, while
painting the ceiling used to read the Old Testament again and again. He used to
draw inspiration from not the sacral art’s already established traditions but
from words of the scripture.

Although Michelangelo always considered himself to be a
sculptor and not a painter, he became the first western artist whose biography
was published during the period he was alive.

Michelangelo was and is still known as one of the best artist ever
in history and Sistine Chapel’s ceiling is famously known for his work.
