Beijing, the capital city of China, has hosted both a Summer Olympics and a Winter Olympics. The city hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics, followed by the Winter Olympics in 2022.
The world’s most populous national capital, Beijing is home to 21 million people and has an administrative area of 16,410.5 square kilometres.

Beijing, being a collection of China’s historical and cultural past, is also a tourism hotspot, and in 2018, was the world’s second-highest earning city vis-a-vis tourism income after Shanghai.
Beijing is also home to 91 universities that consistently rank among the best universities in the Asia-Pacific region and in the world.
The city was first established in more than 3,000 years ago, in 1,045 BC.
